A hole has appeared in the carpark,

The Committee are currently looking into it!

A VIEW FROM SPACE - SENT IN BY JOHN THOMPSON

Flooded - June 2007

This is the way in to DMAC . . . .!

"Flaming June" Eh ! ? !

The football field

This photograph was taken the day after the flooding,

On the 25th of June 2007 the water was much higher!

The river level has dropped considerably from the day before.

Expect a hosepipe ban shortly . . . . . .

Above is a picture of the "PANDAS" 'Eric Johnson Trophy' for electric flight won by John Thompson.

This is John (fancy footwork) Evans flying safely in the 2004 Limbo competition

John Thompson wishes to make it known that his "Diablotin" which crashed at the Club Spot Landing Competition is now repaired and has test flown satisfactorily

His new slotted wing slow fly/indoor Portech "Tojeiro" awaits its first flight

Some of our members just sitting about as usual! From left to right: Bob Smith, Robert Smith, Chris Heaton, Andrew Bennett, Bob Brown, Trevor Maude, John Evans & Til Rausse.

Keith Appleton's 1/6th scale Spitfire, Slightly tail heavy on the first flight, it made my fingers shake a bit! Thanks to John Evans for flying it while I calmed my nerves. It was extremely sensitive on the elevator when I landed it, so I needed a steady elevator thumb! A bit more nose ballast is needed - now fitted ready for the next flight.

Keith Appleton's Clipped wing Piper Super Cub - built by Phil Kent - very scale, fitted with Laser 180 V Twin engine

Keith Whitham's fine "Druine Turbulent", flies well & looks the part with its dummy second "Saito" cylinder, accurately modelled on the real one.

A collection of photographs sent in by Keith Whitham, these photographs are in large full size format, suitable for downloading to your PC and/or printing out - (very slow to download without Broadband).

John Thompson's 'Diablotin' 14 x Panasonic 2,000 NiMh cells. Fitted with a 14x7 prop driven by a direct drive Torcman outrunner brushless motor. Model weighs only 41/2 pounds. Motor fell off once, but it's now secure!

A very Pensive Bob Brown, wondering if his modified "Home Run" will survive the next flight without dis-assembly!

Almost looks real doesn't it?

John Thompson's Butterfly - almost weightless! Radio controlled electric flight in its most basic form.

Robert Smith with his trusty old "Wot4"

Andrew teaching Trevor to fly a while ago.

Flair Magnattila with shiny new 4 stroke fitted,

"YT International" A.R.T.F "GeeBee" racer with a Laser 150 fitted ("I will try to land it properly next time- honest ")
The sun was very low in the sky on this Winter's day
Richard Goldthorpe's FW190

"Majestic Major" flying at Stainland. It has a "Laser 80" in it now.

The late Mr. Fred Hall with his wife Mary

Note the concentration & stress on the pilot's faces!

Eric Smith paddling in water with another amphibious creation.

Another of Eric's fine water planes.

Eric Smith's superb building skill always shows!

"Limbo Dancer" - it pays to advertise!

"Acrowot" - Very good example - great performers!
Robert Smith with his father Bob, with Robert holding the trophies he won in the 2003 DMAC club competitions.
Taking off in the snow, note the great lighting on this photograph - picture postcard stuff!

Alan Senior's "Plan Built" Hellcat in flight

Storage of models can be a problem - we all need a lot more space for this hobby!
Close up of Laser 200 V twin in Keith Appleton's "Flair Hannibal" originally built by Trevor Maude. The engine has loads of power with a very "scale" sounding exhaust note. This model has just been sold to Andrew Bennett - less the engine which now lives in a Fokker DR1 Triplane.

Look at the size of that one! - aeromodelling taken to the extreme, I wonder if it is under 7kg? (Photograph was not taken at DMAC) Notice that this club in the picture have the same problem as we have, with the fuel & engine exhaust killing the grass in patches, but on a larger scale!

Club members working off the barbeque at the 1st Annual, DMAC members only - (nobody else turned up) - fly-in! Photograph taken by John Thompson.

Richard Goldthorpe's highly detailed "Storch" scale model at the "fly-in". It is powered by an old Laser engine, we tried a couple of different props to get the revs up. The wings are not those short plywood plates as you can see in the photograph, but are much bigger, highly detailed with slats & flaps. The ailerons even have mass balances fitted. This is a fine model, but the weather on the day was far too windy for a model of this type to fly safely.
73 inch wingspan Fokker DR1 triplane bought by Keith Appleton recently via the BMFA classified adverts section. It is very well built by Mr. Alan Glover from Lancashire. It was originally fitted with a 23cc Super Tigre engine, it now has a Laser 200 V twin in it! It should fly well, I have put a 20 x 6 propeller on it, in an attempt to get below the 82 Db noise limit at DMAC. The battery will have to be well back down the fuselage to balance it. This model has since been sold.
I don't know what's occurring in the left hand side of this photo, Steve Hall & I are just friends!
Keith Appleton's "Cougar 2000" fun fly on a rare, non-sunny, non-windy day at DMAC
